I just wrote a massive rant about this and then deleted it because I’m very tired and stressed and easily irritated right now, which is probably not the best frame of mind to be in to write rants.
I’ll just say this: I think anyone who broadcasts how disappointed they are with Pottermore is a lousy JK Rowling fan. She was never particularly excited about writing the encyclopaedia but she wanted to write extra backstory because she knew the fans wanted it, and she wanted to say thank you. And here she is, providing some of that backstory whilst trying out a new way to connect with her readers, a way that no one has ever tried before. It goes a bit wrong. And instead of being supportive & patient, some “fans” bitch and moan because they haven’t immediately got everything they wanted. Is it any wonder she doesn’t want to write the encyclopaedia anymore?
Ok that kinda turned into a rant again.
But wow. If the biggest disappointment of the year for you is that a website didn’t hold your interest for as long as you thought it would, you must be having a great year!
